As noted, so far that has either backfired on, or at best not affected, every candidate that has tried it (see Jeb, Perry). If anything brings down Trump, it won't be anything another candidate says about him.

When you're flying to the outer stretches of the universe on another coke-fueled rocket, does it really matter if they're glitter spangled ... or gayboys?

It matters to Leeroy and Ethel.

Leroy and Ethel are long beyond pining for Herbert Hoover again. Fewer of them. Trump might not even need them.

He's gaining steam these days, not losing it. My friends who are conservatives, some of the highly educated, are coming around big. I see it all the time now.

    "He's a straight shooter."

"It's time to elect a no-bullshit candidate for a change."

"He tells it like it is."

It's certainly not enough people to constitute a representative sample. But unlike Peggy Noonan's signs and vibrations, my observation is backed my the objective data rolling in.

The Dem machine is gagging about Bernie every bit as much as the GOP is about Trump. You think they really want someone who calls himself a socialist to be their standard-bearer?

Donald Trump the "No-Bullshit Candidate." Jesus Goddamn Christ.

What next, Chris Christie the "Trim & Fit" standardbearer?

Yeah, he's not gonna win the nomination. No chance.

But he will force the GOP a little further away from co-mingling itself with a faith base that really couldn't care less what you think, so long as a Republican is saying it. Trump's going to make it OK for some candidate to say gay marriage is fine. Many Christians don't really care, regardless of this Kim Davis nonsense. What most conservative Christians like is money, and keeping it, and winning a worldwide war against Islam.

And Trump has reduced the influence of Fox News already. FNC wants him out.
