The Dem machine is absolutely terrified of Sanders.

Nope. The Democratic candidate will eventually be Hillary or Joe Biden and either one of them will win decisively over whichever clown the GOP eventually chooses.

That's funny -- the side whose choices are Hillary and Biden calling the other side clowns!

Scott Walker is at least borderline clown.

There are many clowns in the race. They are not all Republicans.

    You're right. I wouldn't consider Trump a Republican.

It's kind of sad, really, that Fiorina and Carson can be credibly categorized as "not exactly clowns" vis-a-vis the presidency, given all those who can be credibly categorized as "non-clown" ... I know it's the nature of politics, but, sheesh ... I look at that non-clown list and part of me thinks, "What the hell has any of them ever accomplished that didn't involve conning some large fraction of people into making some other large fraction of people do something?"

I don't think Carson and Fiorina are clowns by any stretch of the imagination. And I don't know why you wouldn't call them serious candidates.

And I'd say Hillary is squarely in the clown designation. Anyone who has her people announce to the media that she's planning to become more spontaneous and working hard to be more authentic loses every shred of credibility she ever had.

I think DW's referring to them in relation to their political prospects. That was how I took it (and responded). As impressive as Fiorina and Carson are, I don't think they have a snowball's chance to EVER win the presidency.

I'm not so certain about that. If there has ever been a time when someone with no government experience has a chance, it might be now.

You don't like her, but she's not a "clown" like Trump, Cruz, and Huckabee. She's a poor campaigner, in many ways, who is probably going to nonetheless win the Presidency. Last seen, Cruz was trying to get past Mike Huckabee's short, Asian henchman to join Kim Davis on stage with "Eye of the Tiger" blasting. Clinton's been a United States Senator and Secretary of State. I'd give Cruz some leeway for his shenanigans if he was polling at more than 3 percent. But he's not. Clown.
