When are the PR/social media flacks going to realize the #askwhoever hash tags always backfire?

    Not this week, apparently.

Walker was not a good candidate. IMO, he's not much more than a puppet governor - some guy Masters of the Universe types like because he comes off as regular - who got a strong push in this race because some moneyed folks liked using him as a cipher. He's enough of a numbskull that his PR/campaign swelled to ungodly numbers of folks taking the big benefactors for a ride. Said benefactors saw that, pulled the money plug, and that's that.

For those Cruz supporters - I can't imagine a worse president - you'd want Mike Huckabee out of the race pronto. Huckabee has a lot of the evangelical voters.

It didn't backfire. People are talking about him.

I completely agree with this. It seems about once a week now we get a story about how some #AskSomeone stunt "backfired," and hilarity ensued. (I recall the "50 Shades of Grey" author recently did one, I think.)

They know what's going to happen. They do it anyway.

Walker didn't fall because people saw him as the establishment. He fell because he revealed himself to be a weak, indecisive candidate who waffled about when asked direct questions.

Yes. My favorite was when he said he wasn't going to answer any questions about what he'd do as president because he's not yet president, therefore every question is "hypothetical."

I'll buy that Trump doesn't give a shit, I don't think that's what the 50 Shades lady was going for and it certainly wasn't what Florida State planned with #AskJameis.

He should have gone the Hillary route and just never taken any questions.

I had forgotten about #AskJameis. I think there was also a time when Bill Cosby's people asked people to meme him.
