OPINION: Run, Donald, run; it's good for Dems
By Peter Fenn - 04/18/11 03:15 PM ET

Oh, please, Mr. Trump, won’t you run for president? We want you in this race — quick, right now, jump in! Write those checks. Hop on that luxury private jet and travel the land. Please, keep sucking all the oxygen out of the Republican room. You can join Michele Bachmann and Sarah and Newt.

We can’t wait for the debates! This will beat "The Apprentice" and "Jersey Shore" for all-star ratings.

Oh, yes, please take more positions on issues. You can be the new candidate who has become the weathervane in a hurricane. Take any position you want, you ARE The Donald.

You don’t need to worry about principles or facts or the issues; you can say whatever you choose. You can attack with abandon and not worry about those pesky fact-checkers. NBC’s Lisa Myers took you apart on your Birther charges, but who cares? You ARE The Donald.

We Democrats can think of nothing better than Donald Trump as the face, or mouth, or hair, of the Republican Party. What a gift from heaven! Please, please, do spend the next year running for president of the United States. It will be wonderful for the Democratic Party! Run, Donald, run!

I still bet that Trump decides that focusing only on Republican suckers is a poor business decision, since there are plenty of Democratic and independent suckers out there, too, and moves back to more apolitical hustles.

Donald Trump Loves Eminent Domain Laws. Will TeaBirchers Denounce Him?
By karoli on 04/18/2011 – 11:03 am PDT I wonder how long it will be before the Institute for Justice purges this from their site:

Vera Coking, an elderly widow from Atlantic City, knows firsthand the power of unaccountable government agencies. The Institute for Justice successfully defended Vera against the condemnation of her home by a State agency that sought to take her property and transfer it—at a bargain-basement price—to another private individual: Donald Trump. Trump convinced the State agency to use its “eminent domain” power to take Vera’s home so he could construct a limousine parking lot for his customers—hardly a public purpose. And unfortunately, cases in which government agencies act not as protectors of constitutionally guaranteed rights, but instead as agents for powerful, private interests, have become all too common.

It is, simply put, aligned with the same faux populi who are now being wooed by Trump in his fake bid for the Presidency (which he will not actually ever undertake).

Other examples of Trump hypocrisy coming to light: He was for universal health care before he was against it.

Trump isn’t rounding up funds. Pawlenty, on the other hand, already has statewide networks ready, willing and able to get the big bucks. But hey, Pawlenty is boring and Trump is always press-ready, thanks to his NBC handlers.

Let this be a warning: Donald Trump is nothing more than a smokescreen while the jockeying behind the scenes goes on out of view. TeaBirchers are lining up their troops, guns and ammo while using Trump as a decoy.

Back then at least, the money wasn't coming from Islamic self-interests. But now that they have a sympathetic agent in the White House....
