    it was probably 50; a greater chance that i misremenbered than him!

    what i didnt mention was that the pre-uberobnoxious lupica called me in the morning to compliment the story, adding that he and his buddy paul westphal were hysterical over hubie's tale and when i admitted guilt and my reluctance to let it run in three consecutive grafs he reassured me that 'you let THAT part of the story write itself.'
