;D Ok, I'll let that one go for the good of the thread. I don't want it to turn into a pissing match(not that it already hasn't). Let's just get back on topic.

Sweden-Israel Fed Cup match, to be held in Malmo, Sweden next month, is going to be behind closed doors because of security concerns.

Here's the point that continues to elude you, Chuckie. You would be ranting and raving if it was a member of a minority that you care about being barred. But it is an Israeli, so you don't care. That's it. Whether you admit it or not, that is what I see from you. It is purely my opinion based on what I have seen in your posts.

I am not taking every word you type at face value. Things don't be come "facts" just because you say they are. It's that simple. That is the point you are failing to grasp over and over. So yes, you are the one who can't keep up.

And to respond to your later point, I already explaind 'yab. I'm ignoring him. We all know what he does and none of us agrees with it. It's not even worth bothering with any more.

But yes, keep pointing the fingers in other directions to try to distract people rather than sticking to the discussion. Keep using the South Africa thing, too. I wonder why you haven't dug up that post where I made the comparison yet. Hmmmm

What the UAE is doing is worse than what happened in apartheid South Africa.

South Africe never banned foreign people from playing in their tournaments or events. They accorded them "honorary white" status, which was a cynical move to justify their legally-enforced racism. It could be argued that South Africa treated visiting foreign black athletes better than black athletes were treated in the southern part of the US before 1970.

Arthur Ashe did a good job of explaning this system and mentality in one of his books, which were all honest, well-written, and still worth reading today even though many things have changed. Someone like John McEnroe, who was not a political radical by any means, understood the situation and did not give cover to the South African apartheim regime.

What the UAE is doing is banning a player who is in the top 20 from coming into their country. That taints the entire competition and if the WTA allows this to stand, that will mean any government bureacrat will ban whomever they like and ruins what is supposed to be a fair competition.

I already said I'm done with this, oop. We're just going to keep going on and on and it won't be any help to anybody. Let's just drop it and move on.

I must have missed the "I'm done with this" in all the arguments, but I agree with the overall point of your last post, Chuck. Consider it dropped.

There's a recession on, and due to cutbacks we need people who can fill two slots at once.

Dubai fined 300K, and Andy Roddick says he won't defend his title.

    Also, according to the article:

Part of the fine—more than double the previous largest levied by the WTA— will go to Peer and doubles partner Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany to make up for the prize money they could have won at the lucrative tournament with a purse of $2 million.
