The last negotiating point in the summer of 2002 between MLB and the player's association was over steroid testing. MLB backed down at the last minute and gave up on the steroid testing, but the players were about to strike over it.

John Thompson walked off the court to protest Prop 42. Maybe he was being intellectually dishonest since his 1 National Championship came when Michael Graham was allowed to play for Georgetown.

You don't think that was over money?

More importantly, that was motivated by self-interest

Haha, are you kidding me? So now we're playing the "lets make shit up" game? I've continued to say over and over again that they should be allowed to play.

Really? I missed that in all of your attempts to defend the idea of keeping her out as a "security risk."

Wow, just wow. First of all, I only mentioned that in one of my posts. Second of all, as I said in the post, I wasn't defending Dubai. I was just bringing up what they said.
I just think the problem that occured in South Africa is a lot different than whats happening over here. There's a big difference between racial injustice and political differences. South Africa was an apartheid state.
Having said that, should the Israelis still be given the chance to play. Of course they should.

You brought up the security thing and argued the point. Saying you think Israelis should be allowed to play doesn't mean much if you also defend the excuse given for keeping them out

Now go find the post in which I compared this to South Africa. I'll check back later to see if you can find it.

Sorry op, go look for the post, I never argued the point. I only brought it up because that was the original excuse that they used. And like I said on that very post, I wasn't defending them.

Secondly, I never said you were. I was just telling you the only point I was trying to make. Thats all.

The entire argument that she was only kept out because she is an Israeli, not because she is Jewish, certainly sounded like you arguing the point to me.

Which again goes back to your problems with Israel. It also leads back to your biases regarding the Middle East, a subject which cannot be rationally separated from religion no matter how many times you try to argue otherwise.

Sorry, it seems like you're confused. That wouldn't make sense because I've continued to say they should be allowed to play. I'm just saying political reasons and racial injustice are a big difference.

Secondly, I'm not scared to tell you that I have major problems with Israel. I have no problem telling you or anyone else that. So there, you got me ::) And my biases regarding the Middle East? Haha wow, please explain that to me. What are you trying to say? That I'll blindly defend Muslims no matter what? Where are you getting at here?

Wrong again, Chuckie. But we're all used to that by now.

To address your first point, I know you are saying that Israelis should be allowed to play. But your other posts don't quite fit in with that. It's not confusion. It is a refusal to buy into what you are selling.

And no, I'm not saying you will blindly defend Muslims no matter what. But blindly attack Israel no matter what? Yes, that would fit in with what I've seen from you just fine.
