    ;D

I guess so.......good thing I didn't agree to do those interviews today on the Duke case.

see ya in 3 months or so......

  2. No, but the "idiot" thing that so bothered you was aimed at somebody else who did equate the two. Why you jumped in is beyond me. You want to believe that this exoneration is the greatest injustice in modern times, feel free.

"Why you jumped in is beyond me". thats because I'm an idiot.

Actually, I think the exoneration is great and the second greatest exoneration in modern times. plus I also love seeing the righteous folks like Selena Roberts squirm...........

  4. Ok, some coherency would be in order here.

That was me. And obviously it was just a figure of speech, one that I only used to exemplify how a great number of people (here and elsewhere) rushed to judgment, salivating to convict/persecute (i.e. lock them up & throw away the key) before any real evidence was presented, and maintaining that the players were getting what they deserved because they were just rich, white, privileged campus bullies.

And I actually agree with F_B that comparing this injustice to the brutal, racially motivated Till murder is off-base (though I also believe the original poster didn't really think the two were on the same level), but it still doesn't diminish the fact that these kids -- regardless of the circumstances into which they were born (i.e. they couldn't control being born to successful, well-off white parents in the late 20th century any more than Emmett Till could have controlled being born to black parents in the pre-Civil Rights south) -- had an injustice inflicted upon them, and were branded as being something truly vile -- rapists -- that they simply were not. Injustice is injustice, there are just many different levels.

    Jemele Hill's take, FWIW...

So, are you willing to say the same thing to the Rutgers' team? That their lives will not be ruined by several demeaning words? They're college kids just like the three Duke students and will move on from this.

File this into the too little, too late dept. Nothing like the possibility of litigation to spur on a hollow, public apology.

Don't discount a good, strong lawsuit against the alleged victim.

She's about as sueable as anybody right now.

Certainly a good point. But maybe it'll stop the next BS'er.
