I was about to say something, but out of respect for Boom's request, I won't.

Ah, forget it, since others are making this political.

Of course, if the President didn't do those things and look like he was large and in charge of the Ebola fight, his critics would complain that he wasn't showing LEADERSHIP!!!!

There wouldn't be a need to defend him if the usual suspects weren't making shit up. He and the CDC have been far from perfect, but as usual, the extremists can't just take what they're given.

I have absolutely no quibble with the President or the CDC on the medical side of this ... but this nonsense that this wouldn't have happened given "responsible governing" (vis-a-vis CDC/NIH funding) is absolute horseshit.

The president is far from perfect. But I will absolutely defend him against statements like this:

"I believe the president may literally believe we should suffer along with less fortunate nations. And if he does, that is a very dangerous psychological stance from which to confront Ebola."

I'll also defend him against this:

The complaint filed in federal court in Washington charges Obama and his administration are “knowingly and willfully providing material support and aid to international terrorism and facilitating terrorism by allowing unrestricted entry of persons from countries experiencing outbreaks of the Ebola virus and adamantly opposing efforts, including calls from the U.S. Congress, to restrict travel from outbreak countries.”

Don't bother. It's the Mooslim Neegro's diabolical scheme to pay Whitey back for slavery.

    Fatboy says so.

I'll also defend him against this:

"Obama doesn’t want America to believe that we’re exceptional. He wants us to be just like everybody else, and if Africa is suffering from Ebola, we ought to join the group and be suffering from it, too. That’s his attitude.”

And this, "I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin' " shtick from a sitting congressman:

"I think, I don’t know, their terminology is there’s always a crisis which they want to use to their benefit, I would not be surprised that the reason that you see a lack of response is so that it becomes a real crisis and things can be used to correct the crisis, you know.

It’s just bizarre there’s not enough action up front and I’m wondering if that’s — I’m not saying this — but I’m wondering if that’s intentional in order to create a greater crisis to use it as a blunt force to say, well in order to solve this crisis we’re going to have to take control of the economy and individuals and so forth."

I don't follow. Obama shouldn't be meeting and talking to these people? Or you just have a problem with knowing he's meeting with these people? Or you have a problem with the president's instagram optics? Give me a break.

No president would shut down air travel, and this guy went through another country to get here and didn't show symptoms. The nurse's infection, it has been said, was caused by a "breach in protocol."

I'm not defending the president. I'm just not sure what the hell he has to do with this discussion at this time.
