I've always been impressed at how well the show uses music. The Stooges/body surfing montage in the season 3 opener was awesome. I might be wrong, but I think former MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer (or his wife) has a hand in that part of the show.

Playing ESG during the "getting effed up at the amusement park" montage blew me away. This show uses music better than any show on TV right now. I'm assuming Stevie will show up soon to take care of the baby. It will be interesting to see how they deal with the jump the shark nature of adding a baby to the show.

Sorry, but tonight's episode might be the single worst episode of any show in all the history of television.

Why do you keep watching, then?

That's actually a very good question. I keep expecting it to get better. There's definitely talent there. Instead, it gets worse.

I have some friends who insist it's a great show. I keep trying and trying to see what they see. It's just not there, though.

Tonight.. yeah.. that was pretty uncomfortable stuff at Schaeffer's mansion. Kabuki drag, a cannon, and a black maid named Mamie?
Not my favorite episode, though the line about the Mexican Grimace made me smile.
A rare misfire. Previews for next week look better.

That whole scene was pretty fucked up.

I like how they make it seem as if Shelby, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC are just a few minutes apart.

    Did they, though?

I mean, it's only like a 4-hour trip. Easy up and back.

  11. I keep thinking it'll get better, too. It continues to not get better. Other than a line or two, I couldn't wait for last night's episode to end.

What's worse is that a reviewer on HitFix wrote before the season started that the first three episodes were the best in the show's history. Not very encouraging for the rest of this (mercifully, I'm beginning to think) final season.

I just watched it and was pretty much going to post the exact same thing. Oh well, no where to go but up. I hope.
