My household split the vote. As a staunch independent, I voted unenthusiastically for Hillary. My wife, a staunch Republican, voted for Trump.

If the election goes the way I expect it will, I probably can look forward to several nights of sleeping in the garage.

Was at a couples wedding shower Saturday and the uncle-of-the-bride and his wife were laughing about their experience this year. For the first time in forever they wouldn't be cancelling one another out, so they headed on down to the polls. Tilt. Neither had voted in so long they'd been purged from the list!

Just got to work from voting. Voted for Hillary and did so with little hesitation, though I am pissed off at her using a private email server.

The poll workers were overly enthusiastic to be helpful and fretting over stupid things that I'm sure no one except them even cares about. But oh well. They were worrying about how busy it was going to get because they were getting a strong stream of people walking into the polling place.

  5. I voted for Evan McMullin. I believe Clinton will win.

    Oh well.

And if it doesn't you'll know who ratted you out when the Gestapo comes calling in January!

Took me about three minutes to walk from my car into the polling station, get my number, vote, and exit. Evan McMullin, a Libertarian, a Democrat, and all the rest Republicans.

I had two young kids, maybe 12 years old or so, who were standing right at the front door trying to get me to vote for Trump. I couldn't muster up the energy to be That Guy and point out that they were inside the boundary. Instead, I just chuckled and walked past them.

Voted for Hillary, of course, and the other Dems. In a few local races, there was only one cadidate, so I voted for them on a third-party line, just to give those parties some love.

Early voting gets rid of that problem. Plus, at our precinct in my town, the polling place is an elementary school on the top of the hill. The sign wavers, etc. are confined to the sidewalk at the bottom of the hill, so all they can do is wave their signs as you drive up to the parking lot. This works for everyone. The signwavers feel good and you have no interaction with them as drive past them in and out.

Actually, it compounds that problem. Early voting sites 'round here include: A) the sub-courthouse at which vehicle tag/title/registration transactions are conducted; and B) my university's central student center, at which all on-campus dining options are housed. So instead of one day of such nonsense, I get two weeks.

I see your point. Ours was in the town auditorium/concert hall, next to the town offices and the police station. When I went, there were no electioneers.

Not really sure why but I find myself preparing for the worst, that a bloated, orange bag of methane that represents the very worst of America will be elected president.

Glad I'm not getting my blood pressure checked today.
