What if the Russians and the Chinese fronted the money, and their main goal wasn’t to break even — it was to reap chaos?

Let’s not forget the For You page and changing the algorithm so that I see a bunch of fraudsters and Nazi sympathizers who suddenly show up in my timeline.

If the Chinese agreed to buy $20 billion in Teslas, he certainly would provide them with whatever they wanted.

Objectively, it's not worth even that much. Not even close. And the only thing boosting any objective valuation still is that financial conditions are still very loose, which is lifting valuations still. Take the cheap money environment of the last 15 years away, and you'd have companies being valued by their earnings (what a novel idea), not by the last hangover of a speculative frenzy. And in that environment, Twitter would be worth maybe a quarter (and that is very generous) of what he paid for it today. The debt he saddled it with strangles much of the value it even had when he bought it. ... and he was overpaying by at least 60 percent then.

Did you laugh at Musk's 'jokes' circa 2019?

I just wanted to know what a keen observer thought of this person before he began acting like a complete assclown.
