I like to think we've got some contractor working on a public-sector clone of Starlink.

It's details like that which make me think some enterprising young Ukrainian is working on a method to put Mr. Musk 6 feet under.

The problem with that is it would be pretty hard to get 4,500 satellites into orbit without someone noticing, though it wouldn't surprise me if there were some sort of public-sector (probably classified) network projecting service down on a limited area.

Imagine an army leasing all its tanks from one guy with a Mel Farr kill switch, then years after fact wondering if there might be a downside. Some of this falls on our government and others for not having a robust space infrastructure built out to avoid this (admittedly weird) choke point.
