I've grown enough to know that at 2 a.m., the most philosophical thing I can contribute to this is that this is the most entertaining four-page thread about cricket I have ever read.

Oh, who the fuck am I fooling. That would have been the most philosophical thing I could contribute at 2 p.m., too.

I'm pretty good about staying out of pissing matches like this, but after reading this, all I can say to typefitter/Jones is geez freakin' louise, lighten up, Francis.

Just remember nothing said here -- well, very little anyway -- has any bearing on the actual world.

I posted the question. I waited a day. Not one person had weighed in on the quality of the work until 21's post nearly two days later. Hence my initial declaration. I thought the thread would die a quick death. It sure didn't.

Perturb is a flattering description of his "contributions" around here.

And, frankly, it's more flattery than he deserves. Real easy to stand on the sidelines and poke at people with sticks. Coward.

Soccer column by MacGregor. Still not a fan of the overall style, but I like it better than the Cage piece. It's toned down, but the writing itself is pretty flawless.
