I'm sure we have. I just don't keep a scorecard about who said what on here. This is all opinion. Neither of us can be wrong. We are just going to disagree.

I'm not saying I mind disagreeing or dislike you at all for it. It's just interesting. Almost like clockwork. You can have your tofu. I'll take my bacon.

I admit to being hopelessly biased against bands I don't like, such as Whitesnake and Van Halen other than Eddie.

You're a terrible human being. I'm not sure I'd categorize the Allman Brothers as a jam band. I'm sure a lot of their stinky, unemployed fans would, but I view jam bands as those who make up for lack of talent with long-winded musical pretentiousness. And beards. I think the Allmans straddle that line. Also, I'm guessing Duane, had he lived, would have outgrown the band. On a related note, any list of best guitar players that doesn't include Warren Haynes is worthless.

    I'll put this out there:

"Tweeter and the Monkey Man" is the best song Dylan has written in the last three decades.

No way are the Allmans just a "jam band". There isn't a wasted goddamn note on Live At Fillmore East, even on all 38 minutes or whatever it is of "Mountain Jam". YG is right, Duane was moving in all sorts of musical directions and would probably have left the band at some point anyway. Derek trucks is a damn fine player too.

All great players, but much of their material is outside my taste.

Vai talks about auditioning for Zappa:

    Great anecdote.

Saying the Allman Brothers aren't a jam band is like saying the Beastie Boys aren't rappers. You're listening to jam rock. Deal with it, smelly stoners.
