There was an anecdote in Mike Freeman's tell-all book on ESPN how Chris Berman told a female sideline reporter (I think Suzy Kolber, but I'm not sure) to "not get into any trouble down there" during a broadcast in the late 90s. Now we have guys like Sutcliffe openly leering at Andrews and such. Guess we haven't come so far.

This'll sound snarky or jerky, but I don't think I've ever really thought one "sideline reporter" did anything spectacular or out of the ordinary (save Craig Sager wearing his way-over-the-top outfits, which provided some funny responses from athletes and/or coaches). Nevertheless, I never understood why the "new information" sideline reporters were providing couldn't have just been given to us by the play-by-play and color guys.

Do away with the sideline reporters. Dead weight.

    They don't do anything spectacular?

Have you ever SEEN Ines Sainz?

And they'd end up in Human Resources?

She has more human resources than any other sports-industry person I have seen.

That's just creepy, Simon ... [/SportsJournalists.com women nation]

P.S. Boots, any way you can come back, even for a day, and give us some closure to your stories.

    P.P.S. Bicep or hand?

I just googled Inez Sainz. Wow.
She's not quite as hot as the French newscaster, but Sainz still deserves a wow.
