And Mina Kimes and Ryan Clark and Rece Davis and Herbstreit, etc, etc.

Of the layoffs so far McShay surprises me the most. JVG does not, but I'm an outlier there, I suppose.

Maybe Herbstreit. Everyone else on that list including SVP better be on a cap-friendly deal (so to speak) if they aim to stick around.

I don't watch ESPN enough to know if Aikman does stuff for the network besides the MNF broadcast. Sure Gruden was overpaid, but he did do the QB Club or Classroom where he'd bring draft prospects in and have them breakdown that banana play or whatever. And Stephen A has proven adept at providing hot takes on many sports he knows nothing about - that's value, when there are people at the network that really don't deliver much on sports they do know something about.

Wonder if Rose’s divorce from Molly Qerim played an unspoken role in moving away from him. I saw them a few times on Greenwich Avenue a few years back and even ran into him at the Town Clerk’s office, where ostensibly he was picking up a marriage certificate or something of that ilk.

Ryan Clark? What makes him untouchable?

It takes away from ESPN, but I'm guessing that, with the money they've made already, I doubt any of these people will miss their jobs all that much. They might even be happy to have been let go.

I'm guessing we'll see Suzy Kolber in Paris next year if nothing else. NBC always hires up for the Olympics, she'd be at least a decent midday studio host.

Do Kornheiser and Wilbon still bring in enough money to keep them around. PTI has gotten stale but their names are never mentione when the subject of ESPN cuts come up. As long as those two have been around, they have be be pulling in quite a bit.

I mean, yes, but I suppose I'm baking into it that some people aren't going to make 15 million a year.

MNF had some of the most comical, ineffective broadcast pairings we've ever seen after Tirico/Gruden. Buck/Aikman must seem like a godsend.

Wilbon reportedly signed a contract extension last October, so I'm guessing they don't want to pay his buyout (ESPN reportedly is paying all the laid-off talent's contracts in full, immediately, to get the salaries off the books for FY 2024). Don't know Tony's contract situation, last I could find he re-upped in 2016.

The thing to remember about PTI and ATH is that they're incredibly cheap shows to produce and almost certainly draw enough viewers to more than justify the production costs.
