Holy shit, what an inspiring finish for the Turks. Amazing.

Wow, Croatia sucked it up on PKs. Missed three of their four shots. Turkey is just fun to watch. They never give up. Three comeback wins in this tourney alone, all in the final minutes of the game.

Anyone want to say they have no chance against Germany? I would say they have no chance to win, but they were not supposed to win against better teams Czech Republic and Croatia. Germany has to be happy to be playing Turkey instead of Croatia. But the Germans can't look past this scrappy Turkey team. I'll still pick Germany to win, though.

Think Germany would feel safe with a 3-0 lead on Turkey?

    I wouldn't.

Saying that anyone has no chance is a terrible stretch. But I didn't think it really mattered who won the Croatia-Turkey match because I think Germany is the best in the top of half of the bracket.

(Now please Spain ... beat the Italians. Thank you.)

The path to the finals got clearer today for the Deutsch.

Spain won't win. They NEVER win when it matters, other than when they got screwed in World Cup 2002 against South Korea.

I get a different feeling from this Spanish team. But Italy is going to make it tough for them, play a deep line and say break us down.

Then they'll try to hit on the counter, using Toni as a target and getting De Rossi and Del Piero involved as runners from the midfield.

I'm rooting for the Oranje to win it all with Spain in my No. 2 spot.

But, of course, I'll take anybody but the Germans hoisting the cup on June 29.

That's true. My bad. Anyone can beat anyone on a given day. But I do think that Germany would rather play a tired, less than 100 percent Turkey team than a Croatian team that already beat them once in the tournament.
