She said he was always polite and not at all lecherous in their interactions but that they only spoke on the phone and didn't meet up in person because he was in DC and she in NYC. Said the speculation/scuttlebutt among the NYer alums is that he was entangled with a fact checker, but that was speculation and she had no details as she left the mag six or so years ago.
