He hasn't come out unscathed - I'm sure he's completely humiliated - but I can see how, through your prism, you'd think he has, because you tend to frame these issues based on how a handful of elite media organizations address them. Which is a "'you' thing", as they say. Sooner or later we all develop meta-narratives in our posting history. This is yours.

 

How consequential "elite media organizations" are is an awfully interesting question for this day and age.

 

Maybe others are into it, but passive-aggressively psycho-analyzing me seems like an incredibly tedious direction to go.

We're not supposed to post Tweets from obscure Twitter accounts as representative of reaction to any given story.

We're not supposed to discuss think pieces in widely disseminated and influential publications as representative of reaction to any given story, either.

Posting tweets that have garnered a half-dozen likes and suggesting they represent some side of an issue? That is dumb and should always be ridiculed.
