Haha. I missed yours, when replying.

I was going to say the same thing about him looking like Karl Rove.

Really not seeing enough outrage over Steve Wynn.

There's a lot of silence from GOP voices who were a loudly baying pack when Weinstein's charges came out - and Weinstein didn't have a $7.5m settlement (!) and wasn't the head of the party fundraising arm.

I flew home last night and had a young lady next to me, and for a few odd reasons, I felt like striking up a conversation with her but didn't. I just had a feeling "There's a story here..." But, I thought, this person might be half my age.

With about an hour to go in the flight (and me on the aisle), nature called for a stretch.

On the return, I finally did strike up a conversation. I might start a thread called "Travel Stories" and tell more about it. I'm not going to get into details now, but I'll say two things: 1) Military and 2) I have renewed faith (or maybe a first time ever revelation and belief) that there are enough really good people among our younger generations that this country will survive and not be overcome by morons.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

EDIT: It's completely disgusting, of course. Guy is a straight-up rapist.

A seven and a half million dollar settlement just screams "Guilty as hell!".

When you consider his net worth, how does it compare to a guy, who was making $200,000, was basically broke, and paid an $850,000 settlement?

Does that scream guilty, or just sort of shout it?

The charges are credible, and incredibly disturbing. He surely abused his power, deserves whatever sort of punishment is available.

We should all be outraged that someone would act in such a way against anyone, including, and maybe especially, people in his employ, with who the power discrepancy was so vast.

But, where, other than at Steve Wynn, should the outrage be expressed?

Unless and until it comes out that his behavior was some sort of "open secret" in Las Vegas, or in the industry, I'm not sure where we go with the story.

What made the Nasser Weinstein, Clinton, Lauer, Spacey, Sandusky Catholic Priest, etc. episodes so disturbing was that people in power, in a position to do something, did nothing, and told no one about what was happening.

No one in Illinois Republican circles knew about Hastert? Gingrich was a serial sex Offender in congressional office. No outrage at his continued GOP affiliations. Giuliani used government money to hide his sexual dalliances while in office, no GOP outrage. Wynn was as important to GOP national success as anyone, he’s the money bag.
