KCBS anchor: "I'm not a forensic scientist, but I do watch CBS, and I like to think they could determine just by ... visually ... looking to tell if he put a gun to his head before the fire."

    W-o-w.

It's 5:30 in California and getting dark. One of the things I noticed about SoCal is it gets dark there at local time a lot earlier than I'm used to.

It's fairly far east in the time zone, which is the Calif.-Arizona border.

So, Mayor Villaraigosa, why are you making a statement at this time if you're not able to comment on what's happening at Big Bear?

CNN is kicking Dorner coverage to HLN to make way for the POTUS. Somewhere, Nancy Grace is not happy.

We have confirmation from the Los Angeles Police Department the ex-cop from LA was shot and killed by a local sheriff's department sniper.

Why do I keep playing "Burning Down the House" in my head?

I'm fine with crispy fried. Lord knows we don't need another big trial in LA.

"I'm not a reporter, I just play one on TV."

Sheesh, I recently went to a FEMA PIO training for disasters. Went through a lot of "what not to do" video. Looks like the instructors will be able to update their examples.

So he went Jimmy Cagney in "White Heat"/Bogie in "High Sierra." Amazing how often real life plays out like my American Studies courses in college.
