CBS reported Boston PD has video of somebody carrying multiple backpacks before the explosions.

At this point, Bruins game for tonight and Celtics game tomorrow still on. I presume they'll talk to police at some point to get the all-clear (or not clear) before finalizing any decisions. Garden is about two miles from the explosion site.

When you think about this, it strikes you how incredibkly easy something like this would be to do. Just like any public city street. Load up a backpack with explosives and drop it off in some crowded place on any city street. You can't protect against everything.

CNN's Chris Cuomo is sitting on plane in New York reporting on the incident - not sure why CNN is talking to a guy in New York about an explosion in Boston, but - he's saying there's a ground stop at Logan Airport right now.

Bruins game is now postponed, per one of their players (Ference) on Twitter.

Safe or not, those games should be cancelled. The Bruins game (in Boston) at the very least.

    EDIT:
    Good

There's really no way to prevent something like this.

It could be any crackpot responsible at this point, but I'm guessing not Al Queda. It would have done things timing- and location-wise to cause a higher body count.

    From Pacers.com's Scott Agness:

The Pacers' traveling party are all accounted for. Many were returning from the Red Sox game - by bus, cab and foot - at the time.

-- Anyone know what the usual NBA road hotel is in Boston? Given the blast site was between Fenway and the Garden, I presume they had to be headed in that direction.
