I did not know Clinton, the president who took a serious run at Bin Laden before Obama did, had a third term

From what I've heard (And I can't find a story on this so take it with a grain of salt), the older brother looked different at the marathon than he did back in 2011 when he was interviewed. I don't know how true that is but it would make sense as to why it took a while to ID them.
Plus, they likely didn't get to the actual video surveillance and start the investigation until Tuesday at the earliest, when they could clear and process the evidence on scene and allow others into the area without the threat of another bomb/contaminating evidence.
It's not unreasonable to think it might have taken them a little bit of time to pour through each of the (I'm sure) hundreds of videos and photos they have access to to narrow down a window on when the bombs were dropped off and who dropped them off.
Plus, you've got to figure that then only gives them a suspect/suspect(s) and they have to pour through all the other videos to try to get the best photo of said suspects to feed into facial recognition software.
These things take time. I feel like the investigation went INCREDIBLY quick given the circumstances here. And, if you look at how long it took to get the DC Snipers/Bin Laden/others in similar mass attacks, this was pretty damn impressive.

“There are questions that have to be answered,” said Senator Charles Schumer, a New York Democrat, on CNN’s “State of the Union” program. “This man was pointed out by a foreign government to be dangerous. He was interviewed by the FBI once. What did they find out? What did they miss? Then he went to Russia and to Chechnya. Why wasn’t he interviewed when he came back?”

-- Senator Charles Schumer, CNN State of the Union, April 21, 2013

Reports that Russia warned the United States about him again six months ago. Six months ago.

Give me a break. Two kids had their photo published on the front page of the Post, and were suspects for about two minutes.

They and a dead/missing guy were the only ones "suspected". And, aside from some hurt feelings, nothing bad came of that.

Publishing these guys photos resulted in a dead cop.

If they had waited even 24 more hours, they may have been able to identify these guys and arrested them. It's not like they were hiding. In fact, the Post and Reddit probably made them feel more confident that the FBI was not on their trail.

So we tried to be quite aggressive with them [al Qaeda]. We got – well, Mr. bin Laden used to live in Sudan. He was expelled from Saudi Arabia in 1991, then he went to Sudan. And we’d been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start dealing with them again. They released him. At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America, so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America. So I pleaded with the Saudis to take him, ’cause they could have. But they thought it was a hot potato and they didn’t and that’s how he wound up in Afghanistan.

Nothing bad came of it? Their fucking families weren't fucking threatened by fuckheads looking for anyone brown to blame?

    Jesus fucking Christ.

And the only reason they were suspects for "about two minutes" is BECAUSE THE FBI IDENTIFIED THE ACTUAL FUCKING SUSPECTS.

"Aside from some hurt feelings." They were identified as terrorists, and the only bad thing that came of it was some hurt feelings. Which obviously they're just going to have to live with, because they just have to understand that if they insist on living in America with brown skin, they're going to run the risk of being accused of being a terrorist.

I guess we've determined the price of freedom.
