The younger one was not an "elite" wrestler.

Memo to the TV stations and other media outlet: Tsarnaev was NOT an All-State wrestling champion. He was third in the sectional.

Given that Massachusetts has about four or six wrestling sectionals (or used to, anyway) covering a relatively small state, I don't think that qualifies as elite.

The older one wasn't some kind of boxing champ either.

  3. The younger one wasn't a med student, either, unless taking a biology or chemistry course equals being a med student.

I've rarely read an obit about a teen who played any sport, and he wasn't referred to as a 'star athlete'.

Chicago Tribune sends pizzas to the Boston Globe.

  6. Why does it have to be pizza? Once heard the editor of the Virginia Tech paper complain about the staff just getting pizza sent and nothing else from fellow media organizations in the days after the shootings there.

Pizza is one of those rare foods that almost no one can say they don't like. Makes sense to me.
And for those of you interested, here's a fantastic story I just read on CNN. It's all about the first responders and the chaos in the aftermath of the attack. Very good stuff here: http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/22/health/boston-first-responders/index.html?hpt=hp_c2

With the range of fine quality pizza in Boston that would be like sending ice to the Eskimos.

Charged in a indictment today with using a weapon of mass destruction resulting in death:

As everyone talks about the brothers becoming "radicalized" I could not help but think of the parallels with the youth of the 60's who became radicalized. In the 60's you had young leftist groups like SDS and The Weatherman who liked to blow things up in protest. The 60's protesters were enabled in many ways by the extreme left who glorified their actions. The patron saint of SDS was Che Guevara. The patron saint of Islamist terrorists is Bin Laden. Maybe the biggest difference is better bombs.

Gotta love the last paragraph of the indictment.

Guess we can put away the 12-volt, since he's presumed innocent.
