Were CNN and the Boston Globe getting their info from scanner chatter? The fine folks on Reddit sure thought an arrest had been made based off the scanner.

These things never make any sense. What the hell does it matter what he was wearing two days ago?

 

Now the CNN woman is checking her phone. Bet she's playing Angry Birds

 

Trying to jog the memories of the public. You wouldn't immediately remember the details of the face of the stranger who apologized after bumping into you with the big black bag. You'd remember what he was wearing. Then if you saw him, the cops can work with you to see what else you recall. Even if you don't have a stone-cold description, it might point them toward someone or something that does.
