Maybe not from Dzhokar. This snippet was in the Globe story about the carjacking victim:

My guess? They got a lot of info from Danny and have been piecing some things together. More than likely, someone is reading too much into some of that info.
There wasalso a bit in the story, too, about a phone call Danny received during the carjacking. I wonder if he used an app to record any of the proceedings.

This is homemade stuff with a high degree of error and variations in quality.

You're surprised the Watertown one didn't hurt anybody. I'd say it's just as surprising they were able to make a couple that worked as well as they did.

I remember reading somewhere in the days after Watertown that the top came off of the pressure cooker they threw, causing the force of the explosion to be driven up into the sky rather than outward.

I don't know enough about these things to know if that's likely or even plausible, but if it is it could explain the variance in damage

I remember hearing something along those same lines. The "bomb" fell apart as it was thrown out of the car and, as a result, didn't really pack any kind of explosive punch. That seems extremely plausible.

It hasn't really been reported elsewhere but after they ran out of bombs, they started throwing personal effects at the cops. Anything they could get their hands on. Diaries, cell-phone records, and, most helpfully, their reservations at the Times Square Marriott.

These guys make the first World Trade Center bombers, who used their own credit card to reserve the rental truck, look like Mensa members.

Those are the guys who reported rental truck stolen and went back to Jersey City rental center to get their deposit back.

The Boston law enforcement as a group does not look much better. Now turns out
that it was friendly fire for cop shot in Watertown.

Why do I have the feeling that some fucker is taking notes on all that is transpiring and is conjuring up a similar act?

any word on a balistics match between the 9mm gun recovered, allegedly, from the Festrunk brothers and the MIT officer killed?

Slug not removed yet so they can't do ballistics but likely friendly fire:
