They were identified within hours of their pictures being released. The younger brother's friend texted him.

People that knew them, recognized them.

The FBI must have an intranet they could have put their pictures on. At the very least, couldn't they have had every FBI agent in the country take a look at the pictures before they released them?

Who was the agent(s) that interviewed Tamerlan and the family? Why haven't we met him/her/them? Did they see the photos before they were released?

If yes, why didn't they recognize them? If no, why not?

And, why didn't they check with local Imams? How long would that have taken? A couple of hours?

Remember the FBI agent who warned Washington ahead of 9/11?
Where was she posted? Minnesota or the Dakotas? She got ignored, too.

Somebody blundered, and that's a fact.
Morons still partied in the streets when the suspect was arrested.
Really a sad moment - making us look like enormous horse's asses as a people.

Love this local's treatment of an Infowars reporter (language NSFW):

If you weren't in the area, you don't get to judge the reaction of people who, after five days of chaos and uncertainty, were finally able to feel relieved to not have to live in fear ... at least until the next nutcase decides to try something.

People were cooped up in their homes for an entire day, and half of the immediate Boston area was essentially under martial law. I tend to give folks a bit more slack.

    Love?
    Really?
Swearing at and hurling insults and not actually forming a real argument? That's "owning" a guy.

I went out and got my drink on once when a Cat 4 hurricane sailed wide left.
There was a public sense of relief and it was justified.
Different from acting like a college freshman less than a week after an 8-year-old child was eviscerated by a bombing device.

Ever try reasoning with Alex Jones disciples? I have. It doesn't work. You can either do what this guy did or smile and walk away. Usually I choose the latter these days, but it's good to see them get what they deserve every now and then.

I can grant the people in Watertown their emotional release after being held hostage for an entire day, but the wide-ranging celebration was more than awkward in the context of the death and destruction that preceded it.

    Tea Party 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 ...

And don't forget the righteous righties down at the Westboro Baptist Church.
