The problem was that there was NOTHING on TV for 20-plus minutes. How do you ignore even a mention of it for that long in this day and age?

    Agreed.

The problem/advantage of Twitter is we get all of the unfiltered stuff. The wrong and the right. No one sorts it out. Blessing/curse of immediate tweets.

Which is why I'm not inclined to slam CNN, et al, in this case, because they're sorting this shit out like everyone else.

The only problem I have with assuming these guys are linked with the marathon bombing is why, for fuck's sake, would you rob a gas station and/or carjack someone literally the same day photos of the prime bombing suspects are released by the FBI? Wouldn't your natural move be to dye your hair, shave your beards and lay low forever?

It happened in the middle of the night, and people had to get to the scene.

I think he's just reading tweets from media guys on the scene in Watertown. I don't know how he's working the story from four miles away.

Arrest going on now. "He's got shit in his pockets. Get down that street now!"

Suspect being arrested appeared to say "you arrested my friend."

Reporter next to me just said on phone "Smell of gunpowder is overwhelming." There is absolutely no smell of gunpowder.

MIT Police have determined that the suspect in this evening’s shooting is no longer on campus. It is now safe to resume normal activities. Please remain vigilant in the coming hours.

Because it's over. You've been fingered, and you're going to go out with guns blazing.

WHDH is reporting it started with a robbery of a 7-11.
The FBI, ATF and others are in Watertown.

One local saying Code Black means the ER is closed....most likely because an injured officer taken there....others saying Code Black for that hospital is bomb scare....
