Or,maybe the release of the photos put so much heat on them that they needed to get the hell out of the area. Hence, rob a gas station for some cash and carjack a vehicle to get the hell out of there.

I think the thing that's getting people thinking its all connected is the IED/grenades/explosions.....that pushes the boundaries of even brazen armed robbery

If you're just joining in UK: we got reports 3hrs ago of a police officer shot on the campus of MIT in Cambridge. Officer died of wounds

Soon after two "Middle-eastern looking men with guns" were reported to have have hijacked a Mercedes in Cambridge

They stopped at a petrol station where the victim of carjacking was able to escape and alert police of what happened

Then all hell broke loose in Watertown with officers coming under serious gunfire and reportedly being attacked with grenades

We now believe one suspect is wounded and in custody but officers are still searching for a second suspect, fanning out across Watertown

All hell breaking loose on deadline, for the second night in a row. I don't envy these CNN, MSNBC reporters a bit.

AP has moved two separate stories, one on the MIT shooting, another on the Watertown incident.

Plus, of course, the earlier stuff on the suspect photos from the FBI.

Suspect shown on TV isn't being thought of as a true suspect according to some reports. They say he was just a kid not listening to the cops, so they drew gun on him. That's what I am reading on Twitter.
