Those before and after photos are interesting. But I'm not sure that bag next to the mailbox was the bomb.

Look at the safety railing in the after photo. It's wrapped around the mailbox like it was pushed from the sidewalk side, not the street.

It is was the bomb, the mail box was impressively constructed.

Obviously a lot of questions but interesting to speculate. No doubt a lot more photos and videos will turn up that might prove to be the case breaker.

Oh, right. They just had to blur it out.

    Not buying it.

And if that guy is trying to run away, he's going the wrong way. I'm all for good Samaritans, but failing to immediately render aid doesn't mean you're a bomber. Hell, if anything, I would expect the bomber, if he was still there, to be trying to help people. That's (a) typical of arsonists, etc. and (b) a good way to avoid suspicion.

Same thing that investigators will be looking at and following up on in next few days.
Straw gasping will break the case ultimately.

If running away from a bomb makes you suspicious, then there are thousands of suspects.

Regarding YF's question about what the Senate is hearing, and what police are reporting, I would guess we're still at a point where there is a lot of confusion, and not everyone is communicating the most up-to-the-minute info with each other.

On 4Chan, they've been combing through photos of the crowd and what's left of the bomb. They basically finding anybody with a black backpack and saying "How about this guy?"

My wildly speculative guess ... the case won't be broken by combing through video/photo evidence. It will be broken either when: 1) someone close to the bomber(s) gives him/her/them up; or 2) the bomber(s) do it again and leave a few more clues.

If nobody knows why you did it, what's the point in doing it? Unless you want the FBI to be so totally focused on solving this, that they miss stopping the next one, the bigger one.
