That's been floating around Twitter for about an hour now. CNN just showed it too.

    Oh no you didn't!

There's not a common sense exception. There is a public safety exception, but there is no indication that there is a public safety threat any longer.

Oh, and btw, we were talking about Liz Cheney, not Lynne.

I think that there is a categorical difference between locking people up forever without charging them or affording them any basic rights and what is apparently being done. I don't love it, but if it is an imminent threat situation, I am willing to give it a very short leash.

    And you know this how?

Sure, but is there an imminent threat?

They've already hung the Mission Accomplished banner.

That's because they've been watching people combing the desert.

We don't know what they may have have reviewed or may know. I think that this is narrow and should not be abused, but I am willing to give a very tiny benefit of the doubt.

Well, she hasn't blown up anyone with bombs.

Serious question: Does it really matter one iota if he's not given his Miranda rights? I mean, I can't see what difference it would make if he's told he has the right to remain silent or not. It's not like he's going to suddenly clam up he wanted to talk and they say it so why even bother making this an issue at all?
Just say the words when you're slapping the cuffs on him and, boom, you're covered.

A thought: How did one 19-year old kid elude an entire city of police for upwards of 15 hours?
How did his car end up in Boston and he was found 10 miles away?
How much overtime is going to be paid out for all this? :)

Glad it's "over", but the next part of the story will be just as intriguing.

I'm guessing if he doesn't want to talk whether or not they tell him he has the right to remain silent won't make a difference. But theoretically he might be willing to talk, but bring in a lawyer who stops him from saying something useful.
