Not giving the suspect his Miranda rights is pretty much the easiest way to get a case dropped by technicality. I pray they give him his rights.

Here's a primer on Miranda. Watch it all for pure gobsmackedness. I had totally forgotten about this.

I don't know, I'm pretty worried they might just drop the case now.

That's an argument his lawyer may just make.

He might, but it wouldn't do any good.

First, the feds have invoked the public safety exception because he and his brother may not have acted alone and the threat might not be over.

    From ABC:

Second, even if there wasn't an exception for this kind of case, not reading his Miranda rights doesn't mean the case goes away. It means what he says after his arrest with no Miranda can't be used. It doesn't negate video and photo evidence of him placing the bombs and walking away. It doesn't negate eyewitness testimony. It doesn't negate confessing to the carjacking victim. It doesn't negate any other physical evidence they have collected or might still find.

A lot of people stepped up this week. The law enforcement pros, the people of Boston. and to them we owe our thanks. Also amazing that two people known for their ability to make us laugh - Patton Oswald and Amy Poehler - have been deservedly recognized for helping put the week into prospective.

There has been a lot of chatter that Twitter and Facebook and YouTube are contributing factors for humanity's ills, that they are tools when misused can lead to mistakes and errors, which is true. But they can also be used for good. And when it is used for good, people are able to spread that message to a wider audience.

Can't let this one slip past without acknowledgement. Beautifully done.

One thing's for certain. If you've memorized how to pronounce the younger suspect's name in order to impress other people (exactly like I have - "joe-HARR tsar-NAH-yev"), you're a complete prat.

How many other times in American history has a city taken a collective sigh of relief like Boston did last night?

NDJournalist...it's great they caught this guy, huh?
