Joshua beat the guys they put in front of him. Until Ortiz, Wilder's opponents weren't an all-star roster either.

Here's the funny thing...since I know some of you have this weird infatuation with Wilder's bank account. Joshua turned down roughly $80-100M on the Wilder fight and he's definitely not making that anywhere else but try this one on:

Wilder is an Al Haymon/PBC boxer
Ruiz is an Al Haymon/PBC boxer

Short-term loss might be a long-term gain. If Joshua has a one-year rematch clause instead of an immediate, Haymon could throw Ortiz a few dollars to get out the way and unify those titles in the fall.

What about the one they put in front of him last night? The one that eats a Snickers bar before every fight.

Hey but Joshua sold out MSG right? With tickets going for $30 outside the arena. That's all that matters.

Joshua seemed pretty checked out from the moment he walked in.

Looked dry when they got the robe off.

He's not that good because good fighters don't look that unprepared for any opponent. Fitness, speed, any sense of strategy...Joshua lacked all of it. Strange performance.

Ruiz's win isn't at all the fluke Oliver McCall's was - a single punch - but I loved the line from the announcer after the fight is stopped.

"Lennox Lewis' career must now be in tatters!"

Not quite. He made a whole shitload of money after that. Cemented his fame, too.

That right is so fast, it's almost hard to see in slow motion.

    That's where I land.

From the ringwalk to the weirdly passive postfight interviews, just completely detached from whatever was happening.

    Yep. One punch perfectly timed.

Buster Douglas was 0-1 in title defenses.

    Not bad.
