I believe it's a choice. Now whether it is a right or wrong choice, God will ultimately decide. And I don't think he needs the help of the stooges at SportsJournalists.com to render a decision.

What does God need to decide?

Does he have decisions to make regarding lefties vs. righties?

What about sexuality requires God must make some decision?

Just by making such a statement, you are making a judgement. You're saying it's something that will draw God's attention. To what end? Will he be deciding between Heaven & Hell, based on sexuality?

As I always ask my friend Harold: "Why in the fuck would you choose to be shunned in our small hometown, to be denied the right to marriage, to be judged every time you walk down the street holding hands with the person you are with? Why would you choose to not be able to have kids, when it's all you've ever wanted?"

His reply, every fucking time: "I wouldn't."

Saying someone would CHOOSE to be judged, or insulted, or beaten to death ... like the shock value is worth death ... is ridiculous. It just is, on its face. So people, men and women, choose instead to live lies for large chunks of their lives, marrying and bearing children when they have absolutely no attraction to their partner, SOLELY to be more socially acceptable because it's "the way things are done."

It's ridiculous, and it's insulting, and it's stupid.

KY, do you really believe that just because your friend got married and had a kid that he is no longer gay? Like YF said, maybe he is attracted to both genders, but it is quite common for gay men/women to get married and have kids and try to live what is perceived to be a "normal" life. That doesn't mean their true sexuality isn't still buried beneath the surface. And there is also a lot of experimentation that goes on as people explore their sexuality, but I don't believe that truly being gay is a choice.

A person came to my front door yesterday. Wanting to know if I believed in what they say. I said I can't say if your ideas are right or wrong. You have yours, I have mine to each his own.
    Think about it.

    Totally agree.

But, in addition to this, human sexuality is defined at an age well before anyone would even know the pluses and minuses of such a "decision".

Yet, you think it's an issue that need to be "ultimately decided" by God.

So, you obviously have a problem with it, otherwise you wouldn't put it in such terms.

Agree with you on everything but this. That's not necessarily a negative statement.

Drip, why don't you believe it's OK to kill homosexuals, since it's that directive is clearly stated in the Bible, as well as the one about women who aren't virgins when they're married? How do you reconcile the Bible in those instances to your belief that homosexuality is a choice and is wrong?

YF, this is not a debate and you're not a shrink so you don't know what I'm thinking unless I tell you. I find you to be a very comical poster.

But you told us exactly what you think. Chapter and verse, in fact.

    Are talking about advocating murder?
Look, for the last time, I'm not bashing homosexuality. I happen to think its a wrong choice. If you like it, I love it.
