Since no one wants to help me, I'm dancing with the one what brung me -- sticking with Ivory.

    Fingers crossed tonight!

I feel like Bortles has a lower floor. That'd be my worry.
However, with who he's got the rest of the way that floor might not be crazy.

The sixth place team in my league (5-4) is starting Teddy Bridgewater. The seventh place team, which has an identical 5-4 record, is starting Ryan Fitzpatrick. You telling me those guys wouldn't rather have Bortles?

As for his floor, Bortles' worst game this season was a 12-point effort against Carolina in Week 1. Eli has had two single-digit games (8.5 and 6 points), Ryan has had one (8 points), Carr had an ugly 3-point effort (injury) in Week 1, and Cousins has two (9.7, 9.9 points).

Also, how many teams in contention do you think will slot Chris Givens or Kamar Aiken into their starting lineup? Doesn't the same argument hold true that contending teams most likely have strong starters at WR or RB?

Just traded Eli, Lacy and Hurns for Gronkowski and Gore. Hurns was my best receiver, but Lacy and Manning weren't likely going to play for me going forward. Gronkowski is a pretty huge upgrade at TE for me, where I had been playing matches nearly on a week-to-week basis until I picked up Ben Watson three weeks ago.

My RBs now include Devonta Freeman, McFadden, Gore and Yeldon.

Just swapped Julio Jones and Shane Vereen for Devonta Freeman and Rishard Matthews in one league. I'm in fourth place in that league. I think what ultimately pushed me to make the deal was that the Falcons get Carolina, Jacksonville and Carolina during weeks 14, 15 and 16, and Carolina's defense is significantly better at defending the pass than it is the run. It also balances my lineup a bit, giving me a better RB corps of Doug Martin, Freeman and Yeldon. My WRs include ODB, Allen Robinson, Matthews and Austin (and I took a flier and picked up Victor Cruz this week in case he comes back in Week 12 and is any good).

Pern, the Gronk deal is a GD steal. Was it made before the Starks announcement?
I hated the Julio deal you posted, but with your WR corps, makes sense.
How big are these leagues? Teams seem pretty stacked.

No, the Gronk deal came after the announcement. Not sure if he knew about Starks or not. He originally asked for McFadden, I countered with Lacy and he surprisingly accepted.

Both are 12-teamers. Yeah, as for the Julio deal, I figure I'm getting big production (albeit it not as big as Julio's) from ODB and Robinson, so bolstering my RBs was a goal. I hadn't gotten any other bites on trade offers for RBs, and I felt like I needed to do something if I'm going to compete against the top two teams. Carolina's run defense is so much softer than its pass defense that I'm hoping Atlanta focuses on the run during weeks 14 and 16 to carry me to a title. Freeman and Julio have equal production to this point (228-223 points), so I definitely didn't feel like I was losing anything on the deal (Yahoo projects a +29 point return on the deal).

You playing with a lot of Patriots fans? Makes it impossible to get one of them for a reasonable price. My buddy lost Keenan Allen, leaving him nothing at WR; offered him Cam and Dez (I have ODB and Hopkins at WR) for Brady, he said no.

Mostly Pats fans, but the dude with Gronk is a Giants fan. I'd probably have turned down Cam and Dez for Brady, too. Dez has one good game because of the injury. I wouldn't risk it given how awesome Brady has been. I'd have countered for Cam and ODB, though.

Only make that trade if Bortles is your backup. :)

You can't judge these trades without knowing people's lineups, but the QB position is so vastly overrated in fantasy football, I can't believe people trade value for them.

Easiest position to replace, go back and look at all your drafts and see where Bortles and the like are drafted.
