Agreed. Pending my position I'll either take DJ (he should be No. 1 or 2) or go right after Brees/Rodgers/Brady - maybe get both.

I like pairing up a QB with his top WR, too. Usually if the QB goes off for a big day, his top wideout has a huge game, too, and you can hammer the opposition. Probably harder to do in a two QB league, but worth a shot if you can.

Only combos I have are Cousins-Pryor and Rivers-Allen. Neither top tier but both could be the difference in a couple games.

Give me your appraisal. First of two drafts this weekend, and the first non-keeper I've done in years. Ten-team PPR, I was in No. 6 draft position.

    Starters: QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/TE/RB-WR-TE Flex/PK/DEF

    QB: Newton, Palmer, Dalton
RB: McCoy, Gordon, CJ Anderson, Farrow (handcuff)
WR: Baldwin, Pryor, Watkins, Amendola, Corey Davis
    TE: Reed, Witten
    PK: Bryant
    DEF: Seahawks

Figured I'd rather just deal with the waiver wire on the Bryant-Seahawks bye weeks and use those late picks for depth elsewhere.

Kinda shocked Gordon was there for you at 15. I realize it's a PPR but two top 10 RBs is not something you can get drafting at 6. Baldwin is a solid No. 1 as your third pick, and Pryor has tons of upside as a No. 2. I have a couple shares of him.

Pretty much what I took away from it, QYFW. I was happier to get No. 6 than No. 1, I think.

My only thing with that is that I don't want my QB and No. 1 WR being on the same team in case the other team's defense is too good, or the QB has a bad game, then you have two guys who suffer instead of one.

I do like matching up my QB with my TE, or maybe my No. 2 or 3 receiver, for the reasons that you say. Just not my No. 1 WR.

Here's my team in my sorta super-flex league (qb/wr/rb/te) Had the 9th pick. 10-team league. Could have grabbed a better WR/RB with second pick, but said screw it and went with Brady.
    Rodgers, Brady
Anderson, Hunt, Montgomery, Blount, Hill, Peterson
Allen, Pryor, Bryant (Martavis), Matthews, Tyrell Williams, Lee
    Ertz
    DP - no one yet
    Gano
    Seahawks

Zeke slipped a bit and I waited for him to come back to me, but missed out. Probably reached for Hunt, but I didn't have a RB1 until the 4th round

Really a pretty good lineup, but here's what you've got to remember. You can trot out Rodgers for 15 of 16 weeks, or you can trot out Brady for 15 of 16 weeks. And I know for myself, I don't think I can pick and choose the weeks to play one over the other well enough to make a significant difference.

I'd rather grab early quality at RB or WR, take a Tier 3 second QB later (making sure the bye weeks don't sync up) and maybe grab Hundley or Garropolo in the last round as a handcuff. If Rodgers busts a rib, you'll still have Brett Hundley running an offense that is clearly built to move the ball through the air.

We can play a QB in the flex. Normal league I agree with you 100%.

That does make a difference. I like it a whole lot better given that.

Drafting in home league right now. 27th year. Scoring greatly benefits QBs. Rodgers-Brady-Brees went 2-3-4 overall. I took Winston in fourth. He was 7th QB off the board.

    I picked 8th.
    Winston, Dalton
    Gordon, Cook, Powell, West
Green, Cooper, Graham (no specific TE spot), M. Bryant, Marshall, Coleman
    Lutz, McManus (same bye, oops)
Seahawks, Bears (homer pick in 16th round)
