I lost my semifinal to Gurley a season after trading him away in a keeper league.

The person with Gurley finished either 6th or 7th. He started off the year as the top team, but rest of his roster and moves were pretty weak. He traded for Zeke and gave up Hopkins the week or two before the suspension and that just didn't really help his cause.

I finished fourth. Pretty sad considering my team all year was winning with ease. But, I went heavy with top WRs and snagged Alex Smith off waivers after week one.

Outside of AB, I'm staying away from receivers early next year. Too much value later and too little production from guys like Julio, Evans, etc. Even Odell is likely going to be facing shit quarterback play.

Gurley, Zeke, Bell, Hunt and AB will likely be the top 5 in some order in most drafts next year. Maybe DJ gets in the mix if he looks fine during preseason. I'd put Hopkins as the No. 2 WR assuming Watson comes back with no lingering issues.

I wanted to try something different with this team. I did OK streaming RBs most weeks - I thought I'd be set with Dalvin Cook and Ajayi, but Cook got hurt and I didn't put enough waiver points on McKinnon and Ajayi was pretty lackluster minus last two weeks. Did OK filtering in Morris and Rod Smith once Zeke was suspended and even had a few good weeks out of Tevin Coleman.

But yes - this year getting some decent WRs on waivers throughout the season was fun. Grabbed Woods who I started every week till he got hurt and mixed in Baldwin with AJ Green or Thielen. Thielen was great and the last two weeks he would have been better off on the bench and playing Watkins instead.

Oh well. I might get rid of the QB in the flex and go more traditional as some people bitched, but the guy who won the championship played Mariota and Brees. Both were pretty pedestrian in the fantasy playoffs.

Target % is the only WR stat I worry about. Evans, Hopkins and Landry carried me all season. Shit QB play doesn't matter if the guys are getting the ball thrown to them at a ridiculous clip. Odell is great but his numbers are going to take a dive (relatively speaking) due to Shepard and Engram - who is going to be an elite TE but won't have the same production with a healthy ODB.
I usually wait on RBs, but I've never been in a position to get one of the elite Top 5 guys. In PPR (we're .5) I'd rather take risks on guys in shares or draft guys who will play solely because of their pass-catching. Depending on draft position and availability, I'd go WR-WR-TE-WR with my first four because I think it's harder to make up points in those spots than at RB.
I'm a terrible QB drafter. Can never seem to be in the right spot to get a stud, miss out on the run, or I take a guy too early. In my college league I made the finals two of the last three years because Cam fell to me his MVP year and this season a kid traded me Cam after his horrific start.

Engram is not going to be an elite anything if the QB play doesn't drastically improve.

Anybody play in a playoff league?
Our league has had one since 2009. We go 7-8 teams, with deep rosters - QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, TE, 2 FLEX, K, D. We keep stats on a Google doc, which got much easier a few years ago when one of our friends put in all the formulas so we just enter stats and it totals for us. It's cumulative points, so games played is just as important as actual talent.
I think I'm going to go heavy with Pats (duh), Vikings and Saints. Worried about loading up with Saints and having them lose in the WC though.

I was looking to get into a playoff league. Was fun the couple times I did it.

Got the second pick, which I didn't want - really wanted a middle round pick so I could grab Kamara and then go Minnesota crazy.
Ended up with QB Brady, RBS - Fournette, McKinnon WRs - Marqis Lee, Thielen, Funchess TE - Jesse James FLEX - Derrick Henry, Sanu, Snead. K - Butker. D - Chiefs.
Made a couple mistakes, namely waiting too long on a TE and then taking a D when I could have waited bc everyone already had one.
