Like many others I've never met any of those at the RMN and possibly never will.

But I salute your professionalism and shed a tear in your honour. God knows you've earned it.

    Good luck.

Chuck, this may have been posted from pages 11-15 so if it's a d_b I'm sorry, but you should make copies available for purchase if you can. I know I'd buy the last issue, much as I always bought the paper when I was out in Denver. :)

I just opened my third Fat Tire of the evening, and this one's for the Rocky Mountain News.

This just absolutely sucks. I hope all of you get back on your feet ASAP.

God bless all of us, but y'all first.

To quote the late, lamented Jack Buck (wipes a tear away):

Pardon me while I stand up and applaud! Tracy, I've said it on here under happier circumstances, you're a class act. Here's hoping you and your hat land somewhere very soon. :)

Damn, I think every page between nine and this one made me cry. Sheesh.

Reading the RMN's "Goodbye, Colorado" piece is tough. And I know in this current climate, those going to the Poynter Sports Summit in April will be few and far between but I propose something for those who are in attendance -- Thursday night of the conference would have been the RMN's 150th anniversary. Those of us in St. Pete need to plan on either a toast or a drink in memory that day.

And to any RMN folks ... or those belonging to other papers which may but hopefully don't close by then ... if you are there for any reason, beer's on me.

I picked the wrong time to give up alcohol for a month. I could use a drink or four after this.
daveevansedge has a smart idea. MileHigh, if you're still out there, give us the bar's name and I bet more than a few of us will call the place and buy a round.

'gola, I just took 10 seconds to host pictures.

I went and did a good workout at the gym, but don't feel any better. I feel worse, somehow. It's like this is a day that has simply changed everything that comes after. I really will remember where I was when I saw the news...and wish I could unsee it.

Same here, jagger. Even watching one of my good friends get his high school team into the state tournament tonight (love those kids) just didn't matter. I've been in a fog for 12 hours.

I've been following this thread all day (had my tequilas earlier tonight for you), and now it's dusty, windstorm in oklahoma dusty.

I also don't know a soul there, but I applaud the class, openness and drive you all have shown. between this, the 40-or-so people here that will be cut this summer and the fact that my previous job was just axed today (and i know the person that replaced me), it was a shell-shocking day.

Thanks for showing everyone that you can weather adversity with your head held high.
