There's a documentary posted at RockyMountainNews.com about this whole thing.

It's powerful stuff. Great job by Sonya Doctorian and crew.

    Thanks for the kind words.

    Not just you, but everyone.

The Rocky started BEFORE the Civil War. And just like that, we get 12 hours notice that that's it.

I need to sleep. Alas, I'll get another drink.

That's a 30 for me tonight, at 2:30 in the PST zone. Finally got through the entire thread. Terrible news, but a lot of wonderful posts on here. Lived the first 25 of my 40 years in Colorado. Loved the Rocky. Can't believe it's gone on basically 12 hours' notice. Hang in, all you RMNers. And I expect Sadowski had his tab fully covered by his peers tonight -- I certainly hope so, anyway.

I don't know if this has been pointed out already, but all of the people The Post hired away from the RMN were non-union.

    I can't imagine that's a coincidence.

  6. Mizzou grad, Krieger is one of the most active union people in Denver. I really don't know about the others.

  8. Not that it matters a good goddamn, but the contest for Thread Of The Year is over.

MH, I pray to the journalism gods for the grace, wit and strength you've shown when my final day in this business comes.

You are my new SJ hero.

No. Sadly, I fear it isn't.

Watched the documentary on the Rocky's main page. I will admit that it got dusty in here.

I think the gentleman by the commuter rail said it best. Paraphrasing here: "You're bailing everyone else out. Bail out my newspaper."

If you haven't watched the video on the RMN site, set aside 15 minutes and a box of kleenex and watch.

When Laura Frank says at the end, 'that story is never going to run....' I really lost it.

This whole ordeal is such a devastating reminder that no one goes into journalism by accident.
