You know, I first lost it in the video when Legwold said the part about how Scripps quit on him and quit on those people. Then I had kind of recovered, until the guy was buying lottery tickets hoping to win enough to buy the paper and "keep doing what we're doing."

    I'm sobbing.

The video would have been better if someone had attacked Boehne.

The reaction was the same here.

Dallas Times Herald published its last issue on Dec. 9, 1991. A Monday, oddly enough. Many of the sports staff were at a Cowboys game that day.

What he said, Chuck. Let me know this and let me know when/if you're back in SoCal.

Not saying anything that hasn't been said already, but you and the rest of your staffers brought honor, prestige and pride to a profession that is discounting those elements on an hourly basis.

I always looked forward to picking up a copy of the Rocky when I was in Denver; it was a ritual of mine to pick up a copy of the paper when I was making the connection at the airport or whenever I was in town.

And yes, you were right about Sadowski in Boston when the Her-Ex folded. IIRC, he had to borrow money from then-Kings coach Tom Webster to get home because his Her-Ex expense account was closed.

Sorry if this has already been covered... but what is going to happen to Drew Litton. That guy is great.

What happens to the contents of the offices? There has to be a million tons of files and paper and photos and whatnot....who has to go through it all and clean up? So depressing to even think about it. All the work that just....stopped.

Interesting column, although I could have done without some of Paige's bravado.

Best of luck to all of you in Denver. Sending that last page had to be hard.

If the Post hired just one person away from the RMN, it should have been Litton. He's the best in the business by a zillion miles and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

That's a good question. That's a lot of work -- who does it? And who decides what goes where, what's important enough to save for posterity?
