Sorry, just being an idiot and copied the list from Wikipedia. Can't believe I missed the biggest 2-paper market

I guess NYC having 3 in the city plus Newsday doesn't count, either.

    And doesn't Scranton-Wilkes Barre still have 2?

Yeah, there are a lot more than eight left.

No, I apologize that's a list of cities with JOA's.

Two newspaper cities, there must be many more... as other people already pointed out.... Chicago, Tampa NY... etc.

    Very sorry to hear.

Makes me wonder how long Toronto will continue to support four major English-language dailies.

Because it's in arguably worse financial shape than the Rocky. Oh, and because Dean Singleton is a minion of the devil who wouldn't treat people well if you stuck red-hot pokers under his toenails.

My guess is they'll be making their own cuts really soon.

It's a union situation, as well. I'd guess the contract covers contingencies like this.

I've known Mile High for nearly 20 years and covered numerous high school games around SoCal with him. And I was fortunate enough to grow up reading Sadowski -- one of the best hockey writers in the country, BTW -- cover my beloved Kings in first, the late, lamented Herald-Examiner, then the Daily News.

Two good guys. Two class acts who were a credit to their profession. Two individuals out of work because of the spectacular incompetence of their "managers" meeting the perfect storm.

    This sickens me.

Wow. Still collecting my thoughts. I can't imagine going through something like that. Lots of good people deserved better than this. I just hope for the best for everyone involved, but even I realize how hollow that sounds right now.
