I don't know where you're located, but if you can get your hands on Southern Star's Bombshell Blonde, it's a very interesting can beer. That's the only one I've ever had of their offerings, but I hear the rest are good too. Only problem is they're very limited in where they sell because they're so small.

I've also heard very good things about Oskar Blues, another can-only brewer.

Does the malt liquor have a price cap?

I second the Steel Reserve. And it is by far the worst tasting beer/malt I've ever tasted. It's even touted as a "high gravity lager"! So awful!

Steel Reserve is the perfect beer.

Nice to see the love for my all time fave - 50 on here.

Last time I was in Quebec and ordered it the hot hippy waitress responded by laughing and saying "dat is wat my fadder drink!"
I am not a beer snob and find many of the craft brews undrinkable, seriously, I don't want blueberry or coffee beer.

    My other faves:

    Dos Equis
    Rolling Rock
    Grasshopper
    Keith's IPA
    MGD

I'm in Chicago, and according to Southern Star's web site it has no distributor there. But I'm frequently in Indianapolis, and Southern Star DOES have a distributor in Indiana, so I'll try to find it next time I'm there.

The Oskar site says it's distributed fairly heavily in Wisconsin. So next time I'm on my way to Upper Michigan, I'll stop and grab some.

    Thanks for the recommendations.

When I was staying at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal for the NHL Draft in 2009, I walked into the bar and ordered a Cinquante. The barman asked me if I wanted another one and when I told I did and that he could pour it in the same glass he said, "You want a dirty glass you go to de tavern! Not 'ere!""
