Can't believe I didn't think of the montage from Up. Fantastic stuff.

I think I have seen the Luke/Darth Vader lightsaber duel and reveal too many times. I forgot just how great it was the first time. I still think the Anakin/Obi-Wan duel in Revenge of the Sith is the best of the series and the one with Darth Maul at the end of Phantom Menace is the most spectacular, but there is the two duels with Luke and Vader in the original trilogy are still great stuff.

I'm not sure any of those qualify as just one scene. Personally, I love the one where Luke gets angry and defeats Vader, cutting his hand off, before realizing he is losing himself to the dark side. Great scene and great characterization of Luke.

    Awesome pick.

From the comedy division, I'll throw in the scene from A Fish Called Wanda where Jamie Lee Curtis explains to Kevin Kline that Aristotle in not Belgian, etc. Or where John Cleese calls Kline a true Vulgarian and Kline retorts, "You are the vulgarian, you fuck!"

Really, any scene featuring Kline from that movie. One of the best comedic performances ever.

The song playing over that, "A Change Is Gonna Come," by Sam Cooke, makes it that much better.

I'll second the "You Should Be Dancing" scene from "Saturday Night Fever."

My all-time favorite scene is in "Godfather II." When they're down in Havana and they're at the Superman show, Michael slowly coming to realize that Fredo is the one who betrayed him just kills me. Amazingly acted by Al Pacino. The look of realization on his face as he hears Fredo tell the Senator how he found the place is incredible.

"Planes, Trains and Automobiles": When Steve Martin chews Grace out at the car rental counter.

"Ferris Bueller's Day Off": In addtion to the "Twist and Shout" scene, the scene when Rooney thinks he's talking to Ferris (Tell you what dipshit ...), then realizes it's not Ferris but Mr. Peterson, only we know it's actually Cameron. (Call me sir, gawd dammit!)

"Necessary Roughness": Any scene with Dean Alias. "Absolutely, the appeals board is the way to go. They meet in July! Or is it every other July? Well, either way, I'm sure you wouldn't want to bend the rule, Mr ... Straight Arrow!"

"Uncle Buck": Any scene with Bug. "I've been known to circumsize a gnat! You're not a gnat, are you Bug? Wait a minute ... Bug? Gnat? Is there a little similatity there? Whoaaaa ... hahaha! You understand what I'm talking about? I don't think you do! I'll be right back!"

"Sixteen Candles": "Dong, where is my automobile?"

    "Automobile???"

If this is a DB I apologize, but the deli scene in the jungle in "Bananas" when Woody Allen is sent to get food for the rebels.
"I'd like a cup of coffee and I'd like to order something to go."
The sight gag of the half dozen guys in old-time NYC deli white delivery caps pushing wheelbarrows of cole slaw never fails to massacre me.

How in the hell could I forget to mention Kathy Ireland kicking the beaker in the nuts?

The scene in "Hoop Dreams" when Arthur Agee meets Isiah Thomas...

    The final scene of "Traffic"...

The moment when Bill Murray realizes his sons have locked him out of his own car in "Rushmore" (tie) and the scene when he realizes that Max Fisher has piped bees into the elevator...

The scene when the shooting stops and Clive Owen's character and Key (sp?) walk through the wreckage in "Children of Men"

Jimmy Chitwood telling Gene Hackman, "I'll make it," in "Hoosiers"
