Greatest American Hero: Three seasons. Disqualified.
BJ and the Bear: Three seasons. Disqualified.

Ed: Four seasons. Disqualified, though I loved that damn show.

Here's another recent one for my list, tho: Eli Stone. ABC gave it a half-hearted second season, but essentially baled on it after one... kept moving it around to different time slots for season two and never ever promoted it. Don't know of anyone else who was a fan, tho.

Was Family Guy's original run just one season? I thought it was more than that.

I was amazed to find out later that Battlestar Galactica's original run was so short (not counting the dogshit that was Galactica 1980.)

It was nice to watch a show about my dream job.

My Boys was 4 seasons, but it should have quit after season 1 (49 eps all together)

  6. Why should it have quit after season 1? I was very disappointed there wasn't a season 5.

"Wonderfalls" was a bit of fun that should have lasted longer than it did. It was co-created by Bryan Fuller ("Pushing Daisies"/"Dead Like Me") and Tim Minear (from the Joss Whedon TV Family Tree). To call it quirky is an understatement. From the Wikipedia description:

"The show centres on Jaye Tyler (Caroline Dhavernas), a recent Brown University graduate with a philosophy degree, who holds a dead-end job as a sales clerk at a Niagara Falls gift shop. Jaye is the reluctant participant in conversations with various animal figurines — a wax lion, brass monkey, stuffed bear, and mounted fish, among others — which direct her via oblique instructions to help people in need."

It was cute and had good dialogue - it reminded me quite a bit of "Pushing Daisies," in fact. Plus, Andy Partridge from XTC wrote the theme song, so that's a plus.

More recently, I really wished "The Good Guys" would have got renewed. Bradley Whitford's character had the chance to turn into an all-time great comedy character.

Seconded on "The Good Guys." Really should have lasted a while.

  9. I wanted to say Police Squad, but Holy Hell I thought It ran for a few seasons. Wow six episodes.
In the same vein I also would have said Sledgehammer, but it went two seasons. HIL-arious.

PJ and Bobby are both sports writers, yet they never work and are off each night. Fine if you want to have a show set in Chicago, but don't make it about sports writers if they don't work.
They touched on it in Season 1, not much after that.
The roomie all of a sudden went from hapless DJ (probably for Q101) to owning a bar in 10 minutes. Wish I could pull that off.
The loss of Andy also pissed me off...and I didn't care about the relationship between the bald guy and PJ's friend one bit. Mike was pretty funny though.

    The Job.

But, had it not been cancelled we never would have had Rescue Me.

Sledgehammer was only two seasons? Thought it was three. In fairness, though, once you nuke the city in the season finale you've really written yourself into a corner.
