In terms of a rousing movie speech, I present to you Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday.

Full Metal Jacket has so many good scenes, but I like this one where Pvt. Joker says he doesn’t believe in the Virgin Mary.

I first noticed Christopher Waltz in Basterds, but have seen him in a bunch of stuff since then.

That scene in the cafe where he’s eating the strudel is perfect, from the shot, to the tension from Shoshana/Emannuelle, as she knows who she’s eating with.
Not a scene per se, but here’s a breakdown of the opening scene.

The most epic three minutes in cinematic history, dripping with action, drama, a little comedy and a helluva score.

I would have figured the Coen Bros., Paul Thomas Anderson or Brian DePalma would have made an appearance by now. They know how to put a scene together - Take your pick from DePalma's Untouchables - the train stairs, Capone's baseball speech, the elevator scene. PTA - The Sister Christian scene in boogie nights with Alfred Molina?

The entire movie is my favorite scene.

This part where Bernard and Amy walk thru NYC on a Saturday night in 1966 is beautiful, primarily in the way Coppola played with and edited the film, words, and visuals.

The Virgin Mary scene is quality. I also like the last Perris Island scene when Pvt. Pyle finally snaps. Joker is taking him down but Hartman ruins it by being the asshole he always is

Go easy, Leonard. Go easy, man.

It's my favorite movie, and I've seen it dozens of times. The first 45 minutes at Parris, holy shit.

    Great stuff on this thread.

Always loved the scene in Raiders when the swordsman in the marketplace goes though his intimidating routine and Indy just pulls out his gun and shoots him.

IIRC, it was supposed to be a intense fight scene but Harrison Ford was sick and suggested the change.

Somehow, I've seen the boot camp stuff a bunch of times. I've never seen more than the first couple of minutes of the rest of the movie. I either fall asleep, or I have to go do something.
Same thing with "A Bronx Tale." I've seen everything up to the bar fight (also a favorite scene) or a little bit after probably a dozen times at least, but I always seem to watch it on TV, a commercial hits, I flip to something else and never come back to it.

Nicholson is so amazingly unnerving here. And Lloyd is so eerily calm.
