my man brett comes off as a total douche on this one. the pack "moved on" by using second and fifth-round picks on QBs, for cryin' out loud! that's a huge investment in the nfl. so i can't blame the pack for feelin' effed. brett effed 'em good.

the unfortunate reality for thompson/mccarthy now is the living legend wants to play and they are better for 2008 with him. how the heck can they risk letting him play somewhere else?

this still has a way to go before it plays out. but if favre is the starting qb anywhere but in green bay this season i'll be truly shocked. SHOCKED, i say. the pressure on rodgers is already ginormous this season. can you imagine what it will be like if favre is playing -- and playing well -- elsewhere?

I still think there is a decent chance he doesn't unretire.

Do you think he risks showing up at camp with Rodgers as the starter?

Either that, or the Packers should trade him to a team that Favre will want no part of playing for. Atlanta, Miami, Oakland, Buffalo... Not that any of them would want his salary, and hope he refuses to show.

Favre will start somewhere this year. This makes it abundantly clear he's wanted out of Green Bay for years and now he has the ammo--at least in his pea-sized brain--to make it look like he was forced out and that he had no choice but to "unretire" and go elsewhere b/c the Packers didn't want him anymore.

Good for the Packers for calling his bluff when he threatened to retire in March, and for knowing he wasn't bright enough to back off.

  4. If Thompson pulls this off, the entire state of Wisconsin should bow and kiss his ass.
