Suddenly, I'm feeling lots better about having given Purdue its only SportsJournalists.com poll vote the past two weeks.

Max Hall with 5 (FIVE!) touchdown passes in little more than a quarter.

Georgia Tech's PSA is fradulant bullshit. It shows some woman in engineering class who daydreams about jumping the Rambling Wreck over a ramp daredevil style. That's impossible. Everyone knows there are no women at Tech.

A few things worked for Maryland. One, Chris Turner was on FIRE today. He does that in big games, leading the Terps to a pair of wins over top 10 teams last year. He sucked more than suck could suck last week, and this week he was just the opposite. Plus, he's a bay area kid so he had that motivation too.

Also, Maryland's defense was stout today. Cal couldn't get it going until it was too late. They couldn't run at all today against Maryland. Plus it was hot as shit at the stadium today. Very humid. And the pass rush, my goodness, was something I hadn't seen from the Terps in years. Since the start of last year I didn't know they even knew how to rush the passer.

On top of it, Cal arrived in town yesterday for a noon start today. Whatever they did to prepare for the time change it didn't work.

Maryland has a few playmakers too though. Their top two RBs, Scott and Davin Meggett (yes, he's the son of David) are fast and very good. Plus Heyward-Bay is a 4.2 40 receiver who is good too.

And to think I had trouble finding someone to go with today. :)

Hokies' jerseys are first-string on the All-Ugly Team.
