Wow, Ohio State is dominating this game, though that is a big stop by the USC defense.

Can someone explain why Kirk "I'm a huge OSU fanboi" Herbstreit is calling this game?

If I'm correct on my Ohio State pick, I might be in good shape in the SportsJournalists.com Yahoo pick 'em league. I went 16 points on Kansas. Of course, I also picked that final score at 52-17 or some such thing. That would be in favor of the Jayhawks. Ouch.

By the way, I'd like to thank the whole western part of the state of Michigan for reaffirming my golden rule that you can always bail yourself out by betting against Idaho. I actually think W. Mich is decent for the MAC, but does it even matter who Idaho is playing if the point spread is less than 10?

If USC doesn't take this game over soon, I am formally proposing that we scale back to 46 states and let a few states out west petition Mexico or Canada for a home.

Few things before the final blast to deadline:

Virginia: It might be time to relegate you to I-AA. So far to open 2008 the Cavs have been outscored 80-7, including 28-0 so far to Connecticut.

UCLA: Pathetic (but thanks, cuz you helped me hit a 3-teamer).

Ohio State: You might not score again tonight.

Notre Dame: 35 points! (BTW, what was with all the posting about Weis' knee?)

Cal: Go and join Virginny in the sub-conference.

Mizzou: Who will be the Tigers' opponent in the BCS title game?

    USC: 12.5. C'mon, don't fail me, boys.

;) I won with the "triple-8" -- Purdue plus-8, BYU minus-8 and Western Michigan minus-8. I took WM on your advice. Thanks.

Great concentration and athleticism by the USC receiver to hang on and get into the end zone.

As long as they're a team which has its QB throwing in the third quarter, and running fake field goals, both when up by three-plus scores, the football gods will not allow such an appearance. A coaching staff that still has no clue how to handle its great success.

A fake f$%#ing field goal. Up by a lot. In the third quarter. Does USC/Ohio State/Oklahoma/Georgia run such a play, against a Sisters of the Poor opponent? Missouri has a wonderful offense. But they like to resort to bullcrap when games against overmatched opponents have long since been decided.

Florida kicked a FG in the final seconds against Miami because Meyer wanted all the Gator fans who bet on the game to be able to cover. Same thing, Piotr.
