    I agree with that.

Ohio State-Michigan could argue one or both usually battle for the Big 10 championship and maybe something more. It's replaced Nebraska-Oklahoma in that respect.

Army-Navy could argue tradition, national pride in service for their country.

Duke-North Carolina basketball could make the same argument as Ohio State-Michigan, but they play home-and-home every season, and the campuses are only eight miles apart, which intensifies things.

Red Sox-Yankees could argue history, division titles and even the World Series this decade.

It goes on and on. To say Ohio State-Michigan is the greatest rivalry "in all of sport" is hyperbole. It's one of the best, no doubt. But THE best? A lot of people would argue that ... as we're seeing here.

The WLOCP is great. And then Georgia plays Auburn, which is also great. And then Georgia Tech, which is also great. Hell, when the Dawgs play in Columbia, that town goes crazy nuts.

There just isn't a transcendent rivalry right now.

It has a pretty damn good argument as the greatest rivalry in all of sport.

I haven't heard an argument for another rivalry that makes me think it isn't. This is a subjective argument. And I don't see anything that makes me believe this isn't the best rivalry in sports.

Whatever happened to the Oklahoma/Nebraska rivalry? That used to be played up like doomsday arriving. Didn't they used to play the day after Thanksgiving? They both were always very good and it was nationally televised all by itself. That game caught everyone's attention. Did the Big 12 really allow its format to fuck that thing up?

    Nebraska blows. That hasn't helped.

Colorado had that 5-year run, which sort of shook the Nebraska-Oklahoma rivalry off its foundation. Then Nebraska started to suck and never recovered.

Has Ohio State-Michigan -- 2006 aside -- ever approached the level of Nebraska-Oklahoma? To me, it hasn't.

And TSP, the Big 12 essentially ended the rivalry in 1996. Nebraska hoped to do what the SEC does, which is to have one rival from the other division to play each year to keep that rivalry alive. The Sooners disagreed, they always viewed Texas as their main rival so they were fine with the plan the Big 12 eventually went with, the one you see now with five division games and three rotating games.

Princeton. Fritz Crisler first used it there in 1935, three years before he took the design with him to Michigan.

Tennessee takes a 10-0 lead on Vanderbilt. C'mon, Dores. An appearance in the Chick-fil-A Bowl would be hilariously awesome.
